force quit FCPX to close import window?

I am trying to learn FCP X. I have opened the import media window but if I do not want to import anything the only way I have found to get out of the window is to force quit FCP (or pick something to import even if its footage I don't want. Is there another way to do this? This has happened since the footage I am looking for to import is not on the external drive I had connected. I am running FCP X on a Macbook Pro, Mavericks, Final Cut Pro X.10.1.1
