Double tap not working after using usb mouse.

Hey guys,

i just bought a usb logitech mouse (M100r) to use with my macbook pro 10.8.3. Once connected all my double taps on my trackpad dont work properly and neither on the mouse. On the track pad many times i keep on tapping yet a folder doesnt open. Even click the pad doesnt help. I just keep on tapping until it eventually opens. Similarly on the mouse double clicking on the mouse also doesn instantly open up folder though it takes lesser time than the trackpad.

I have gone in system preference and made my mouse double click speed max and even in accessiblity, trackpad's double click is max speed.

Even after removing the usb mouse the trackpad problem persists. This is frustrating me as i can hover with my track pad but cant open folder until i try atleast 5 times each. Please help me.
