How do I make table cells wider than the default setting?

Cells you can't, but you can alter teh width of a column. Tap the top bar of the table above the column you wish to modify. Drag the colum edge using the || symbol within the blue highlight to change the width. If your table is already set to full width (margin-to-margin), you will need to decrease the width of one column before you can increase the width of another.
