How to determine download speed when downloading a file in safari 7?

In Mavericks, when I use Safari 7 to download a file, I can see its progress but not sure how to determine the download speed. Does anyone know how do I determine the download speed by looking at a current download in Safari 7?

Thanks ...

I am sorry to see this is not answered. I am well aware of website that tell us our internet speed both up and down. However, when on a slow or faulty internet connection, it's more than just a nicity to know if the download is still progressing. In those cases, the progress indicator doesn't help because the movement is soooo miniscule or maybe not even visible. Knowing xx KB of xy KB the good old way is necessary.

z777, I think you asked this question well in your subject. I hope someone will be able to tell of a feature I have missed. I know it's not in the Develop menu. I am now going to search for an extention.

Ah! It finally came to me. If you click the small downlown indicator at the top right corner of your Safari window, the good old Downloads window appears (although not as a stand alone window). In it you'll see the numbers that tell you how fast your download is progressing (KB/sec), the KB downloaded and yet to go, and the estimated time left for the download.
