My laptop screen is permanently smudged. I have tried everything. I've only had it for a few months and I've only cleaned it with a damp lint-free cloth. Does this mean my screen is damaged, or is there a way to fix it? It is very frustrating.

What is it smudged with?
I have no idea to be honest. It had dust and a couple of fingerprints on it, so I sprayed water onto my microfiber cloth - which I have done many times before, but this time, instead of wiping it clean, it only made the screen worse, and now I have streaks all over it.

Don't resort to rubbing alcohol or and bleach based solvents at all. The retina display's glass is a sort of hybrid with the display itself, so you have to be extra careful. It's hard to tell without actually seeing the screen.
