Q: I have Aperture 2.1 which doesn't work with the latest Mac OS.

Is there anyway to get an upgrade from Apertrure 2 to Aperture 3 without having to pay full price?  Isn't there some type of upgrade option available to those of us who have already bought Aperture?

Upgrades (goint from version 2 to 3)  always have to be paid for, updates (going from 3.1 to 3.2) are free.

The bright spot is you'll be paying a lot less for Aperture through the Mac App Store then I paid for when I bought it when 3 first came out, before the Mac App Store.

The $79 purchase price of Aperture 3 on the App Store is the same as the upgrade price was from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3 when you could buy a boxed copy of Aperture. So, that's your discount
