Will the replacement's warranty start over?

I have been waiting over three weeks for my MB to get repaired (and then it failed final testing) so after enough complaining, Apple decided to order me a replacement. It's going through its process right now. Will a new warranty start with the replacement? For example, from the day I get it, will I be starting a new 90-day complimentary phone support warranty?

Also - a kind of related question: One thing I complained about in my letter but didn't come up with the rep is that I didn't get the iPod rebate because I ordered it too early because I needed a computer, and now I haven't had a computer anyway for a good amount of time (it is going to be a month sans computer this week). Should I bother asking if it is possible to make an exception for me? I don't want to be a cheap customer or something, but honestly, I haven't had my computer for a month and I'm really not getting anything more out of this.

That is good to know. I got a call today from executive relations to tell me that they are giving me a replacement and that I can pick it up tomorrow at my local store. I wonder if it will be a refurb or new? I hope it's a good one. The big issue is I had upgraded my hard drive and ram. I now have to provide them a reciept for my hard drive so they can replace it.

EDIT: Sorry misread your post - didn't see the replacement bit. I assume that the warranty period will start from 1year again complete with 90day phone support.

I'll leave the rest of my message incase anyone is interested in how far the apple service covers you after service.

--------------

As far as I can work out, you are covered for 90days after service, or for the rest of your original warranty period - whichever ends later. heres what I found form the apple support site.

Does Apple warrant my MacBook service?
For MacBooks under Apple's One-Year Limited Warranty, Apple warrants against defects that arise from service performed for 90 days from the date of service or for the remaining period of the warranty, whichever provides longer coverage for you. For MacBooks not under Apple's warranty, Apple warrants against defects that arise from service performed for 90 days from the date of service.

They're taking care of me too. They are going to email me some fedex labels to send back my recently repaired for shutdowns macbook. When they get verification that I drop it off they will ship off a new one.

The repair looked ok. No more shutdowns. The trackpad works perfectly now. The whole thing felt like it was screwed together tighter. The chassis didn't creak anymore when I picked it up. I like the texture of the new keyboard, trackpad and top case better. They did put some scuffs on the outside case though. The main problem was the superdrive didn't read my discs anymore and only ejected discs if I turned the unit upside down (of course, this results in scratches to the disc). I spoke with someone extremely helpful in customer relations and refered back to my old workorder. He immediately offered me a new macbook. I just hope I'm not going to have to start over with these issues again.
