My late 2011 MBP running 10.9.1 has started to occasionally boot into safe mode when starting up. I can't think that I have changed any software or hardware immediately before it started doing this. Anybody any idea why it might be doing this and whether there is a significant problem developing?

your MacBook Pro’s behavior sounds fairly similar to that of MaNuMaTeS’ MacBook Pro — look at that discussion for some things to try with yours.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked at the thread and I'll try everything down to reinstalling the OS to start with. He seemed to be having much more serious problems though. My MBP seems to be running fine apart from this occasional booting into safe mode.
