Just found out the top button (power off button) doesn't work. Any ideas or am I going to have to disassemble it?
I know I have to do the DFU reset or something to get into it but that's impossible without that button working.

The following article has steps you can take if your child has forgotten the passcode to unlock the device (you may not need the sleep/wake button to follow these steps if you have an iTunes backup or have Find My iPhone enabled):
