Q: I cannot get Java to open in Mountain Lion
My computer was recently repaired and Mountain Lion was installed when it was returned to me. I can no longer successfully work with Java. How can I use Java with Mountain Lion. I have only one website that I need it for.
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5

Hello SCSilverfox,
Thank you for the question. I recommend installing Java if you haven't yet or updating it if it is already installed using these steps:
Use one of these methods:
- For a new installation of Java 7:
- Download the latest Java 7 version from www.java.com/download/mac_download.jsp.
- Open the downloaded disk image.
- Open the installer within and follow the onscreen instructions.
- If Java 7 is already installed:
- Choose Apple menu () > System Preferences….
- Choose View > Java to open the Java Control Panel app.
- Click the Update tab.
- Click Update Now button and follow the onscreen instructions.
Java updates available for OS X on August 28, 2013
