Mail...

I'm having some email issues in regards to my newly setup ipad and my existing aol accounts. At the Apple store the associate showed me a link in aol so that you only have an inbox, no more of that second box, recently deleted. This way all mail stays in your inbox after you've read it. I was having a problem when I was reading emails in the Apple mail and them getting sent to the recently deleted box in aol. I'm trying to stop using the aol mail, but until it's seamless, I'm still using it. Anyway, I used the link at the Apple store and it worked for my one account, everything stayed there and I'm able to open mail in my Apple mail without losing them in aol. I did the same thing to two other email accounts that I have in aol and it worked, only an inbox now. But I'm having issues with those last two email accounts, the number of emails in aol and Apple are not correct. The emails are there, but the numbers are not correct, why is this? One other issue that I don't like is that when I send an email from aol, it only shows my email address to the receiver. But when I send an email from the Apple mail, it shows my complete name, not the email address. How do I set the Apple mail to only show the email address to the receiver, not my actual name?

You're on the right page. Maybe it's the difference in email providers that you don't have it, I don't know for sure. With all the trouble you've been having with mail maybe downloading the Aol. app is the way to go. The 5, 10, etc., are the mail that show up on the Notification center, thats the screen you pull down from the top of the screen. Maybe a stop by the Apple Store would be helpful, they should have you straightened out in no time.

I had a one to one today and find that some of the people are good and some aren't. I didn't get very far today, to be honest, I've received more help from this forum than anywhere else. That's why I keep coming back.

I want to use the Apple mail and get away from aol. Part of it is me getting to used to the ipad and Apple in general.

I just read in another post that the mail days to sync isn't available in ios7, if so, that's why I can't find it? Can anyone confirm that?

For the fetch, it says that the schedule is used when the push is off? My push is on, should it be off? The fetch is set to manual? I'm sorry, but if someone can break this down a bit more I'd really appreciate it.

When I pull down the notification center I see a calendar, but nothing about email. I sent myself a new email from my mac and have the option set to 20 unread items. The email went through, but still unsure what I'm supposed to see on that notification center page?

Thanks Bob for the mention of the user guide in ibooks, have it downloaded, but still not seeing everything I'm having trouble with.

Aloha Andy, IOS 7 has the mail days to sync but we'll worry about that later. On Notification Center first make sure you have Mail in include. Then when you pull the notification center down, tap "all" at the top of the screen. Back to mail, always remember as long as you don't delete the mail it's there. You can use the search field in mail or go to your email via Safari. Bob.
