Hy, I have a question for those who know more than me on "Pages".

If you have a macbook, (not the retina one, the one a little older) can you download Pages for free on app store?

Someone I know doesn't have Pages and would like to have it, this person possesses a macbook pro (not retina). When he went on the appstore, the app wasn't free, but he has OSX Mavericks. Shouldn't it be free??? Cause I bought a retina macbook pro and I got to download it for free after updating my software to Mavericks.

Hope someone has a solution or an explanation for me .🙂

On October 22, 2013, Apple announced that its Pages, Numbers, and Keynote apps are available free with every qualifying new Mac. If you purchased a qualifying Mac on or after October 1, 2013, that did not include Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, you can download them free by following the steps below.

The new software is free to those who bought a recent Mac and to those who previously owned a version of Iwork.

Otherwise you need to pay for it.

Be warned it is very much beta, with lots of missing features, comaptibility issues and bugs.
