Lost all "Built-in Output" option everywhere?

Please excuse me if I am posting this topic/question in the wrong forum. Although I recently purchased a Macbook Pro 15", I still own and often use my older Powerbook 12". In any case, my Powerbook recently lost all "Built-in Output" as an option everywhere- System Preferences (sound), Midi setup, Final Cut Pro, etc.... For example and more specificallly, in System Preferences (Sound), under the "Output" category, it states that my Internal Speakers are using the port "built-in audio" and in Midi Setup there is no option for "built-in output" anywhere.

What is strange is that my internal speakers work fine.

Does anyone have any information on how I may resolve this issue? I can't be completely sure, but I think the problem initiated after using Final Cut Pro.

Any iinformation and help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for directing me to the right forum. After I posted on the Powerbook forum, I realized my error, but could not delete the initial post.

I have tried to zapping the PRAM, however this unfortunately did not solve the issue.

If you have any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
