Please excuse me if I am posting this topic/question in the wrong forum. Although I recently purchased a Macbook Pro 15", I still own and often use my older Powerbook 12". In any case, my Powerbook recently lost all "Built-in Output" as an option everywhere- System Preferences (sound), Midi setup, Final Cut Pro, etc.... For example and more specificallly, in System Preferences (Sound), under the "Output" category, it states that my Internal Speakers are using the port "built-in audio" and in Midi Setup there is no option for "built-in output" anywhere.
What is strange is that my internal speakers work fine.
Does anyone have any information on how I may resolve this issue? I can't be completely sure, but I think the problem initiated after using Final Cut Pro.
Any iinformation and help is appreciated. Thank you.

No, you are posting in the right forum. Just that crossposting is not recommended unless nobody in the forum can help you and there is another forum where some people might have the answer more. In anycase, have you tried zapping the PRAM? Follow this link to find out how:
