PROBLEM REGISTERING QUICKTIME PRO - PLEASE HELP!!

I enter the registration code and press the "tab" button as instructed, and the software does not update to pro version. Please advise what to do. The purpose of me getting this upgrade was to record my screen but as I read more info online, I see that I may not me able to do that with quicktime pro.

Im a bit frustrated at this point. Can someone please help me with 2 things...

1- register the software

2- recommend a program for mac ios lion to record your screen if quicktime pro will not

It actually does a better job with video screen capture than QT anyway IMHO.

Do you get an "invalid" message when you enter the name and number?

Are the words Pro removed from the menu items?

QuickTime Player 7 Pro has never had a srceen recording option and will never include one in the future.

Since 10.6 Snow Leopard QuickTime Player version 10 has included screen capture features. It's in your Application folder.

I tried to do video screen caps of a VM, and QuickTime records a "black screen" every time. Snagit records perfectly from Mavericks, or ANY of my VMs.
