I cannot change time in NEW EVENT scheduler box

The time has a letter in the hour place. It can be highlighted but will not change to a number

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

Quit iCal, locate the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to the Desktop, log out/in or restart and let us know what happens.

Thanks for your reply.
Customer support had me try a few other things because that didn't work. Eventually I had to throw out the entire system preferences file. That fixed it although I don't know which preference caused the problem.

Glad to hear your problem is resolved.

Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption, by Dr. Smoke would have been my next recommendation. You might want to be aware of what you can do on your own.
