Feb 7, 2014 7:30 AM in response to natalia154by fizzDripper,you will have to contact the network provider to whom the device is locked to. if they have told you that the h/set has been locked then you simply need to insert a working sim of a differant netwrok provider, power off the phone and copnnect it to iTunes and sit back.. after the sync process is over very likelt you will get a message om ur itunes or you will see signal bars on the h/set

Feb 7, 2014 7:30 AM in response to natalia154by wjosten,Put a sim card in the phone from a different carrier. If no errors, your phone is unlocked. That's the only way to verify, other than calling AppleCare.
