When did this start, Tatiana?  After upgrading to Mavericks? After you imported new images? Installed any new software?

Try to narrow down the problem. Is the performance better, when you hold down the Shft-key while launching Aperture?

Do you have the same problem, when you test with a different Aperture library? Create a new library with just a few images for testing.

    Tatiana,

Wha is your Aperture version number?

How much memory (RAM) does your iMac have? My Aperture works better with Mavericks after upgrading to 16 GB, but that should really not be necessary.

When processing images in format Rav program stops work well and my Computer is becoming a very hot ( as the program takes all the memory is . You have to complete all programs including Safari .

Are you also closing Mail? When I had a similar problem, I discovered that Spotlight and Mail caused the Mac to hang after the Mavericks upgrade, not Aperture. Try to delete Mail, you no longer need, rebuild your Mailboxes  (Mail > MAilboxes > Rebuild), and to rebuild the Spotlight index. See:  Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes

To check, which application is causing problems, look at the Console Window and the Activity Monitor.  Both applications are in the folder Applications > Utilities.

Make sure, there is no problem with your Aperture library or settings in your user account: Try these steps:  Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics

Also, if you have any older applications installed or Aperture plug-ins, check there compatiblity with MacOS X 10.9.1 and update or uninstall them, if necessary.

Unfortunately, there may really be a problem with Aperture 3.5.1 on Mavericks and certain Mac models, see these threads:

Is there a memory leak in Aperture 3.5?

    memory leak

Then nothing will help, but waiting for a bug fix to be released by Apple.

I do not use the built-in Mail program there is no interpreter (I use Mail Gmail. Mail Therefore I do not always active.

I attach screenshots version of Aperture and my computer. Just attach a screenshot of memory when working with a photo format RAW.

Thank you very much for your help on the links, I will now read and follow the instructions. I hope that this helps. About their results I'll be sure to write.

    Leonie !

I very carefully read the discussion.

Made a new library , the result is the same , the memory goes .

So I disabled the Onscreen Proofing like it became better memory goes , but not so fast stopped at 1.6GB free 's capacity , you can still work like that , and my computer does not so hot.

Noticed that the memory starts to leave when working with curves and using brushes.

Color profile I can not turn off , because factory calibration of the monitor is not suitable for printing , pictures are red

    I attach a screenshot " you monitor system "

I hope that this will help to cope with the problem.

Your memory usage looks perfect now with 1.6 GB free.

If the memory would not be used, it would be wasted.

This green bar shows, that the mac does not have a memory problem - the memory pressure is low.

Noticed that the memory starts to leave when working with curves and using brushes.

Curves and brushes need really much memory to store the masks, so that is natural and to be expected. Does the memory used drop again, when you stop brushing and close Aperture, or is the memory not released?

    Leonie!

Let's hope that it is still work, and the memory will not go away. I also hope that the developers in modest time to correct this mistake. The program is very good, I'm in it to work comfortably than Lihgtroom Although I'm not very good at English, it is clear to me on an intuitive level. And of course do not want to leave the program and use another.

Working with other settings, memory stop goes, that is fine, but as soon as I start to apply presets, work with curves and with tassels, memory goes.

Please tell me where to find my own presets that I created myself , I want to copy and save just in case

But if I have any more questions or concerns, I can you turn for help?

I am quite sure, there will be an update soon.

Your own Aperture presets are in your User Library:

    ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/

You user library may still be hidden, as is the default:

    • Quit GarageBand .
    • Select the "Home" folder icon (the little house)  in the Finder's sidebar and press the key combination ⌘J to open the "view options". Enable "Show Library Folder".

Then open the Home folder and open the Library folder inside and navigate to

    ~/LibraryApplication Support/Aperture/

But if I have any more questions or concerns, I can you turn for help?

Sure Tatiana, my pleasure. добро пожаловать

You may want to post a new question, however, if it is not related to the current problem. Then our other forum members will be able to help as well.

    Thank you very much Leonie!

I am also very pleased that you have written a few words in Russian

Questions I do not have, and I will hope for the best, and of course we expect from Apple updates the decision is a terrible problem with memory care.

I wish you all the best and good luck!
