As stated no you can't use iTunes, but you can use your iPod with Windows 98.

Because Windows 98 is dead. It wouldn't make any sense for Apple to devote resources providing support for an end-of-life product.
Honestly, you shouldn't even be using it. It's insecure, unstable, and no longer supported by Microsoft.

If you're computer is that old to run Win98 only, I'd suggest installing Linux. If you're new to Linux install Ubuntu or Suse. Both support iPods and music. You can then install Crossover Office w/ iTunes.

It might be a bit complicated for you at first, but if you learn it then you're be that much more computer literate. =)

APPLE SHOULD NOT support Microsoft products that MS no longer does. We need to assist MS in its ability to keep the masses upgrading constantly so MS can make more $ and fix their old OS crap with newer OS crap. As a matter of fact, let's STOP supporting MS OSs even before MS does. As soon as MS offers a new OS let's make that the only OS usable for things like movie trailers. After all even the millions of cavemen want to see them. So even though there are MANY millions of PC's running Win 98 let's make it impossible for those people to see movie trailers, (most of which require iTunes and therefore won't work), in an effort to get the owners to buy new MS OSs!! makes sense! Maybe some will switch to OUR better system or use LINUX. That's VERY likely. Hey WE OWN the stuff! Movie trailers use our format because it's the best, so that PROVES our point! What a bunch of losers those people are who refuse to support MS and stay with their old OSs. They actually think they are more stable! HA! Everyone knows that each newer OS that MS makes is better than the preceeding one. Hey I am a dedictaed Apple user but even I own MS stock. It has performed very well and I think we need to admit we are part of a larger group all interested in the same thing.
