I pad air play issues

I have an gen 1 I-Pad and it does air play wonderfully. my client's I pad (3rd gen) with the latest IOS update does not have the air play icon wheh he uses the music icon. it works with my iPad and denon receiver, but his does not have the icon to start airplay. he is logged into the same wireless network as the denon .
