I pressed cmd shift 4 for the snip tool, but cannot figure out how to paste? The ol' command "v" instead working.

Press the Control key while issuing that shortcut, or double-click the png on the desktop and copy its contents.

Hi Niel.

I have the same question. I'm new to Mac and am trying to find a way of snipping without having to go to the desktop and copying the picture or having to insert the picture.

In Windows you snip and then with control V you paste directly. Is there anyway of doing this without having to go back to the desktop each time? I tried pressing the Control Key as you said, but am not sure what you meant by "while issuing that shortcut".

Thank you
