Device's wont connect to itunes

Since i updated Itunes both my devices wont connect to itunes (Ipod and Iphone).

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes.

I have stopped and restarted Apple mobile device in my service settings.

The devices both connect to my computer and I have used 3 different cables and used every USB port I have with no luck.

When running diagnostics from Itunes everything is coming up fine apart from it is saying no device is connected.

Does anyone have any clue as to what is wrong? I have no access to any other computers as my other one is currently broken and have only used this one for itunes (its a new computer running on windows 8 and I have never had issues with it before and all USB ports are working for other things such as external hard drives etc).

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Try Andrei Cerbu's post here or see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, forcing a driver update.
