Why can't i see my timeline or markers in logic remote on iPad?

I have a not too ancient iPad running Logic Remote.

Most things work just fine in the Mixer view: volume and pan and track selection great. Transport button wise I can play, record, and move to start. I see the current measure and beat etc..

But, when I i click on that top center transport display. I see what looks like a null timeline: i can see and drag a grayish selection area over a darker field with the playhead needle in the middle but when i let go it all bounces back. Also, when I click and hold on the bar display my marker list says No Markers.

I do I have markers in this project, if instead I use the Key Commands view I can tap the buttons there to move to next marker etc.. just fine.

My main transport and means of navigation seems wonky, I can't navigate much less play and view timing on my markers while rolling like I want.

Is this something for me, or apple to fix?
