Sync iPad Mini and Mac Mint WITHOUT iCloud

I know this is a common question but the answer does not work. All of the "solutions" refer to right clicking "information" or "contacts" Apple Support says:

"Calendar: Sync calendars across devices

You can sync your calendars using iTunes so that each device you use (iPhone, iPad, or iPod) has the same information.

If your calendars are hosted on a server (for example, through your workplace) or online (for example, through iCloud, Google, or Yahoo!), just set up those calendar accounts on each device and computer you use. Then, your calendars are kept up to date everywhere.

  1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac.If iTunes doesn’t open, open iTunes.
  2. Select your device, click the Info (or Contacts) tab, and then select the Sync Calendars checkbox.
  3. Select whether you want to sync all your calendars or only the calendars you select.
  4. Select any other options you want, and then click Apply.Your calendar information is updated each time you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac."

There is no "Info" there is no "Contacts" either right click or left click. Nothing in menu or tab -- nothing in iTunes, nothing on the iPad Mini, nothing on the Mac Mini.

Nothing. Anywhere.
