iPod not recognized by iTunes 11.1.4

Running Mavericks on my MBP, 2011, iTunes version 11.1.4, 2nd gen iPod Nano

Since installing this update for iTunes I've already had to wipe and reauthorize my iPod once, which was mildly annoying. I connected it a second time, now a week later, and came to find that iTunes still does not recognize my iPod. I see that this is an issue in other threads for iPhones and other iPods, so I'm wondering if there's some sort of a fix coming, as I haven't seen any solutions posted.

iPod nano (2nd generation), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), iTunes 11.1.4

Kinda new to this,

But I found that sometimes plugging my Ipod into multiple computers, especially with different Itunes accounts can cause the Ipod to reset.

Otterer, thanks for the advice, but my iPod only gets plugged into my own personal computer. It gets less STDs that way. 🙂

On a more serious note, I have found that that does affect it in the past, but in this case, that is not a factor.

Now I don't own an Ipod nano, and you may of already tried this, but see if there is anything on this link that may be of help to you http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/earlier/

Otterrer, I'm sure your intent is not to be condescending, but the manual to the device that I have owned for well over three years is not helpful when this is clearly an issue with this version of iTunes, as this has not happened before.

This came from another thread, but worked for me. Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62. Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update). Reboot, and reinstall iTunes. It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano. Good luck.
