HOW TO ATi Rage 128

Hello,
I've posted a few topics about my ATi Rage 128 card... all with minimal help. Unfortunatley there doesn't seem to be anybody out there that knows how to use the Video card... I want to know how to use the inputs on the card? Can I use them as video capture tools? Should i, instead of trying to get this to work, just upgrade to a radeon card??? Thanks in advance,

There are no current video cards (with engines newer than the ATI Rage 128 that allow video input), the newer cards only have S-Video, DVI and VGA output. Using them is simple. Plug in the desired device and boot your machine, at least thats how it should work.

As far as I know, the Rage 128s video input is the only supported under OS9 or earlier. As for output, it works just like any other graphics card, although I think it only supports one screen at a time, but I could be wrong.

When I ordered my Dual G4 snakebite, thats the second card they installed.
ATI still has in their download section the OS 9 drivers for it that as far as I have seen with mine, the ability to us those extra ports.Though I have not been able to get the S-video out to work. But the rca and S-video inputs work. Useful when I need to get crap of my VHSC camcorder.
Back date the driver, the latest version 4 something didn't work.I needed an older 2. something. OS 10 wasn't supported.

Sorry for the delay in responding,You need to go to ATI's website and get the OS9 program that enables the video capture. When you reboot the exstension loads and Preimer and final cut will give you the option during your capture setup. It wont work in OS10, Its a DV world now and slowly merging into HD.
ATI at this point wont support analog capture in OS 10.

Fragmore,
I don't think you quite understand the situation. This is a peer to peer support forum, hence the apple.com > support > discussion at the top of your window. I thank you for bring to my attentio that i could always go to ati's web site, although once would have been fine. This product, as im sure was said already in this discussion, is discontinued. Therefore ATI doesn't support it anymore other than the drivers. trust me i have been there.

My question still remains... What can i use to capture the analog footage using my Rage 128 card? Thanks again
