Sadly you have left it a few years too long, so Leopard is no longer available from, or supported by, Apple. You will need to look in eBay or Amazon for a black retail install disk, and that can cost up to $200.
As for Firefox, that no longer supprts PPC Macs or older versions of OS X. The alternative is to download the free PPC version called Ten Four Fox:

Feb 10, 2014 11:10 AM in response to shy1595by rccharles,1) Ignore your cable commany. Are you having a problem with your existing web browser?
2) TenFourFox -- It's a port of the latest FireFox to run on older hardware and software.
"World's most advanced web browser. Finely tuned for the Power PC."
-- works for me on 10.4. Supports 10.5

Turn on pipelining. This will allow Firefox to make simaltaneous requests to the server. Chrome has pipeling turned on. Some sites could fail to load with pipeling set on. The site will be old. See "Increase pipelining" in:

OmniWeb uses the lastest Safari framework. The open source WebKit. Other browsers like Safari and iCab use the OS version of WebKit. The OmniWeb downloaded dmg includes it's own copy of the latest WebKit.

Feb 11, 2014 7:11 AM in response to shy1595by Limnos,I'm with rccharles. Does your cable company say why you need to upgrade? Sometimes it truly is a feature that is required to do something such as configuring a box. Other times they just say they require it because that was the lowest version software they had available when testing their stuff and they don't know if it will work with less, but quite possibly it can. Sometimes it is so you can see their very, very important ads, or access all their valuable marketing features.
I still run Tiger OS. As far as web browsing goes, I very rarely have a problem. I run not-quite the newest TenFourFox. Unfortunately the newest disabled Flashplayer completely and a few of my favorite sites require it absolutely. I still have TFF 17.0.11 which unfortunately you no longer seem to be able to download (kind of reminds me of a certain mega computer company that discourages using older versions of its software ). I also have Flash version which reports itself to web sites as a higher version than it is. It goes to prove that few sites truly require the newest version. I have never needed it but I also have an add-on that will get the browser to tell web sites it is a differnt browser than it really is to fake those we-know-best sites that don't really need you to be running Internet Explorer.

Feb 11, 2014 8:49 AM in response to BDAquaby Limnos,Thanks for the links BDAqua. Now that I think of it, the mian issue when I downgraded TFF wasn't so much the application (I was too hasty in my statement) but the add-ons. Several of the ones I use had been removed from Firefox's add-on site for the pre TFF24 version. I had to resort to finding them buried in an obscure location in my backup files. Unfortunately it means they are not available for a TFF new user unless they want to use the newest version or can come by them some other way.

It's a royal pain trying to identify extensions and what makes up a complete one. I looked in my Application Support folder and there's bits and pieces all over the place, some with absolutely cryptic names. Which extension is {1280606b-2510-4fe0-96ef-9b5a22eare41} ? Even those that make some sense are still cryptic, like somebody's email address!
I don't remember which ones were the problem ones. Some are showing updates available so I think the current versions are still TFF17 compatable. If I remember correctly the problem ones may have been:
Classic Compact + CC options 16.0.1
DownloadStatus bar 0.9.10
Organize Status Bar 0.6.5
I have an old version of CacheViewer 0.6.3 which I never bothered to weed out and it won't work with TFF17. Now there's a new CacheViewer2 which does.
