why does one memory slot always show empty with or without card installed?
I have a late 2008 macbook aluminum case
MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
According to OWC, http://www.macsales.com that machine can take 8 GB in 2x4 GB modules. What do you now have installed?
There could be a problem with the logic board if these modules are actually good. Have you tried switching them to see both work in the slot that registers?
