Clicks and Pops Soundtrack Pro does not get rid of?

How do I edit out (reduce) clicks, pops? (Soundtrack Pro's fix all does not take care of that!)

What I call clicks (noise) show up in the sample editor as a straight line. I have seen videos of somone erase, shorten these noise-spikes in other applications so one can not hear them.

Is there a tool that I can use to do this in Soundtrack Pro, (Logic Pro)? I am working on audio recordings that were recorded with reel to reels then transfered to a computer with that noise. Please help.

I've never run across transients (pops, clicks, etc) that did not show on in the waveform.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the recording and not a sample mismatch?

If you want to cut sections of the timeline out, highlight the area and simply delete the area. This does shorten the playback and can cause other issues.

You can set the work area on either side of the spike and using a notch filter cut the spike's specific freqency to reduce the noise without affecting too many other frequencies.

Thank you for your time and patience Studio X. I am new at this, the Soundtrack Pro manual gives me a blank page when I seach for waveform editing. Can you please post step by step? (Where and how to do)
