Q: Apple TV "not" connected

I was able to rent a movie through iTunes, but now I am getting messages that my ATV2 is not connected to the network/Internet. I have restarted and unplugged my ATV. I have reconnected to the network. I have logged out of and into my iTunes account. I have restarted my modem and wi-fi. It still won't work. Strangely, despite the alleged lack of connectivity, it will still show me previews of movies.

I am at a loss. Any ideas?

    Hello lahteb,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

For more information, take a look at:

If you can see your Wi-Fi network, but you are unable to connect to it

    1. Restart your Apple TV: Choose Settings > General > Restart.
    2. If you can connect to the Internet using an Ethernet connection, verify that your Apple TV is using the latest software by choosing Settings > General > Software Update. If your Apple TV can be updated, install the update and test again.

Restoring your Apple TV to factory settings

    1. On Apple TV, choose Settings > General > Reset, and then click Restore.
    2. Your Apple TV will restore to factory settings and will download and install the latest Apple TV software. This process may take some time.
