My email that I used to create my icloud account was deleted

And I made a new one that works fine with my Apple ID and everything else, but for some reason my icloud account is stuck to that old email address that doesn't exist anymore. This makes it impossible for me use icloud properly or edit anything related to icloud because i am prompted to enter the password affiliated with an address that no longer exists. Any suggestions?
