itunes does not recognize cd's that i put in the optical drive. using itunes 11.1.4 on a 2009 macbook pro running osx 10.9.1. Any advice? Thanks.

Open iTunes, and go to Preferences (under iTunes in the menu bar). Click the General tab, and set "When CD is inserted" to something like "Ask to Import CD".
