After you downloaded it, it will be stored in "Download" Folder by default unless you changed the store location. Then, you need to install it before you can use it.

If you download it using Safari, click the download button located at upper right corner. If you download the Microsoft Office installation file successfully, it should be able to see it there; then click the magnifier icon that I circle in red; and you will be able to locate the file in your finder.

I work for the DOE, so we get it free. I followed the step to download it, and it successfully downloaded. However, I don't see the app

You are saying you bought it, installed it, and now you can't find it?

Look in your application folder.

If you have not purchased it, you will need to. You can do so from this web site: http://www.microsoft.com/mac

But honestly, unless you need perfect compatibility with documents you are sending to other people or colaborating with you can do without Office. There are other options available that will serve you just as well, or better.

Did you look for it in the Download folder?
