my macbook shows wrong location

When I turn on automatic time zone or check google maps it shows my macbook at my last location. I can't get it to show my current location. My ipad mini has the same problem. I read that Apple has to register my mifi device or something. Not sure what to do to correct this. Called Apple twice and they can't figure it out.
