Q: iMac G5 Intel-based iMac will not power up. No power at all. What can I do?
I came home the other day after my cleaning woman was here and now my iMac won't power up at all.
Nothing, not even a noise or a flicker. I've got it plugged into an outlet that I know works, I have a lamp
plugged into the same outlet right now. I took the cord all the way out of the back of the machine, and plugged
it back in again, twice. I figure she must have done something while vacuuming, but that is just a wild guess.
My newer Mac is right next to it, plugged into the same wall, and it is perfectly fine. I did leave the iMac on
but resting for quite a while. Perhaps it just burnt out!! I never use it, but it's my backup for a few thousand
photos and I'd like to be able to access it just for that, if nothing else. Any suggestions? The closest
Genius Bar is over an hour away, I live out in the countryside. I will bring it there if I have to, though. Thanks.

My thinking is that the Power Supply finally died.
You are going to have to bring your Mac in for free diagnosis and then decide, based on the cost estimate whether you want to have this Mac repaired.
