No longer charging while in use

I have the Ipad 3. Suddenly it is losing its charge while in use and plugged into original apple outlet adapter

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (VZ), iOS 7.0.1

There are a few things you can try.

Resetting your iPad. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can get it to reboot then try again.

If you have spares, swap out the cable and charger to see if those are the issue.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried a number of original apple outlet adapters and have tried rebooting. It has not helped. I am noticing that I am also having problems with the screen freezing. This is all recent. I have had this ipad for apprx. 2 yrs. with flawless usage. Could my battery just be worn out? I do keep it plugged in 24/7?
