Q: problems with personal hotspot

i have just updated my itunes to 11.1.4. and then i am not able to connect to the personal hotspot using a usb cable.

is there any ways that i can use usb to conect with the personal hotspot?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

It depends on what cellular device you have. What do you have, and what version of operating system is it running?

Well I am using iphone 3Gs and I think the latest version of 3Gs is 6.1.3

Can you do other things with the hotspot? Browse the web? Is is only iTunes connectivity affected?

Well yeah like normally the screen goes blue when the hotspot is activated. But it is obviously not activating when the usb is pluged. It doesn't works with my friend's iphone 4 either. But it works if it was conneted with bluetooth. It all happens after i have upgraded my itunes and i have already booted both my pc and iphone several times
