You can connect multiple bluetooth devices, like a keyboard and headphones. However, not two that use audio. That's because the audio channel over A2DP can only play to one device at a time. Its a limitation of the audio feed via bluetooth - there is no split or simultaneous feed to multiple devices. A2DP is a uni-directional 2 channel (ie. stereo) audio feed only.

APPLE have plenty of ENGINEER & MARKETING product Research ==> why they never think about this
it is very SIMPLE , customer need --> if Steve Jobs is ALIVE --> he will be upset to this BUG.
Billions dollars pay for ... but All Apple never see this.
let's wait & see how long it take to TIM COOK to see this IMPORTANT to be FIX.
I'm not the SOFTWARE engineer , but i think APPLE can create an APP to do this easy.

Sep 7, 2016 3:33 PM in response to Binh Nguyeby Dark~knight,I Would like to hear Tim Cook address this issue. could it be that Apple are not aware of the need for multiple wireless Bluetooth headphones? Considering they have Apple TV service, from which I purchase all my movies. It would be nice if the wife could watch and listen to the movies with wireless headphones too.
I wonder if Apple reads these messages????
please please support upto 4 multiple Bluetooth headphones to your products I.e TV

Sep 7, 2016 6:50 PM in response to Dark~knightby Diana.McCall,Instead of wondering, you should post your argument here https://www.apple.com/feedback/. But as Tom said, Bluetooth may not be the right vehicle for this.

Sep 7, 2016 9:56 PM in response to Dark~knightby LACAllen,Bluetooth is not an Apple technology.
It is not possible for Apple to unilaterally update Bluetooth to allow this. They are merely part of a much larger group.
You can contact the Bluetooth group here >> https://www.bluetooth.com/about-us/contact-us
It's entirely possible the newly designed W1 chip they announced today as part of the AirPods product could allow this in the future.
