There are and have been for ages BT splitters that take a single connection and retransmit it. They simple bundle multiple BT chipsets and transmitters into a single device to retransmit to multiple devices. There’s nothing new or novel in that device you linked to, and the Chinese were not the first to offer such a thing (Bose offered them in Europe years ago).

That technology is not at all the same thing as allowing a single BT radio and chipset to split the audio stream to multiple simultaneously connected devices. Current BT 4 standards limit A2DP streams to a single device. To add multiple A2DP services running simultaneously, you need additional hardware. I imagine that’s a huge challenge in an iPhone due to the physical space available and the additional power and antennae required.

You can connect multiple bluetooth devices, like a keyboard and headphones. However, not two that use audio. That's because the audio channel over A2DP can only play to one device at a time. Its a limitation of the audio feed via bluetooth - there is no split or simultaneous feed to multiple devices. A2DP is a uni-directional 2 channel (ie. stereo) audio feed only.

It is very smart QUESTION.

Most of USER (husband & wife) for iPad AIR can listen audio or watching movie together

IPAD was design for PORTABLE ( for trip/vacation)

if one person can listen sound ==> that is not right !!

APPLE have plenty of ENGINEER & MARKETING product Research ==> why they never think about this

it is very SIMPLE , customer need --> if Steve Jobs is ALIVE --> he will be upset to this BUG.

Billions dollars pay for ... but All Apple never see this.

let's wait & see how long it take to TIM COOK to see this IMPORTANT to be FIX.

I'm not the SOFTWARE engineer , but i think APPLE can create an APP to do this easy.

it will made APPLE more famous.

I Would like to hear Tim Cook address this issue. could it be that Apple are not aware of the need for multiple wireless Bluetooth headphones? Considering they have Apple TV service, from which I purchase all my movies. It would be nice if the wife could watch and listen to the movies with wireless headphones too.

😝 I wonder if Apple reads these messages????

please please support upto 4 multiple Bluetooth headphones to your products I.e TV

Bluetooth is not an Apple technology.

It is not possible for Apple to unilaterally update Bluetooth to allow this. They are merely part of a much larger group.

It's entirely possible the newly designed W1 chip they announced today as part of the AirPods product could allow this in the future.
