Can anyone help me out? I'm searching for the original owner of the iPad I bought second hand that is now iCloud Locked

I have the iPad Mini that I purchased second hand that is now in the Activation Lock Screen. (Set Up Screens)

It is a white 16gb serial number " F4*******196 " & the email starts with an "R" & is a Gmail account that is all I know.

Also that the iPad is registered on here on someone else's Apple ID on the Apple Website. So that's what I found out when I wasnt able to add it to my devices list on here.

if I can get any help please I will REALLY appreciate it.

I am trying to contact the original owner who purchased it 1st hand.

You need to take it back and get your money back.

That ipad is activation locked and the only way to unlock it is with the original owner...and Apple will not help you with that.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required

If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

If you cannot get this information from the seller

Removing a device from a previous owner’s account

You need to return the Device for a refund,

No one here would know who you bought the iPad from. Sadly, without that owners information, your iPad can not be activated. Since you purchased it, why don't you know who you purchased it from? Also, Apple will not reveal who the original owner is.

You could email the previous owner and ask them to remove the iPad from their iCloud account.

I have the 2 persons who are brother & sister, names but not their email nor phone numbers. I have contacted them over facebook but no reply. I have 1 mutual friend who contacted the female most likely original owner via SMS Txt but claims to not know the email nor password. I can provide their names & facebook profile links but im surely guessing im not allowed to do that here.

So what can I say to them that can maybe convince them to help me out?

The only way I can have any possible way to contact them is thru the mutual friend.

If they keep claiming to not know the email nor password can the authorities get involved?

Ask them for your money back because they violated the contact of sale by not providing that information.

It's likely you bought a stolen iPad.

It's between you and who you purchased the iPad from. The authorities won't get involved in a situation like this. Unless you want to claim your iPad is stolen. You should get your money back from whoever sold you the device. If you can't, you own a nice shiny flat brick.
