Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

I have a iMac MA876 with 1 GHZ memory, can I add a 2 G memory board..for a total of 3 G, with out any problems..?

My MAC MA876 has 1 G memory installed, Would it be alright to install an extra 2 G memory board, for a total on 3 G memory...is it alright to mix 1 G and a 2 G memory board...for a total of 3 G memory...any problems???

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

your Mac can handle 4 GB (supported by Apple) or 6 GB. I'd go for at least 4, especially if you're running Mountain Lion which is generally recommended as being a minimum. Make sure you buy it from a reputable vendor with a lifetime warranty: OWC (macsales.com) or Crucial.
