How do I insert bars before 1st bar? Then have logic renumber/reset the bars.

How do I insert a large blank space before my 1st bar, so that I can develope motifs and themes that I have worked up already beginning at bar one. The goal would be to insert say... 32 measures at the beginning and have logic renumber them - then use that space to work up to the material I currently have at bar 1.

I often find I've fully orchestrated a theme or created a groove right from the beginning (as I experiment with adding layers) but then realize I should have been developing motifs or slowly building up groove elements many bars earlier.

I'm just trying to figure out how to add 4, 8, 16, 32 or more bars before what I have at bar 1. Kind of like composing in reverse a bit. Kind of like the practice of writing an introduction to a book (after writing the book) but placing it at the beginning of the book.

I've been reading post that say this is not a good idea, that somehow logic might not like this. What? I thought logic was similar to a word processor for music. It should be easy to add music to the top of the score just like its easy to add text to the top of the page.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help

Just press Command+A and move everything. Normally I never start recording on bar 1. I like to have 4 bars in the beginning of the project to record automation or to put intro effects and stuff. Anyway. Command+A will select everything in your project and then you can just drag it to make room for new stuff. The only thing that will not follow is tempo changes and markers etc, but these can be moved by using the Event List, Marker List ...
