I keep getting notifications for events even though their end date has expired

On my calender I have my classes as events and I set them all an end date.

Now despite the fact that date has long passed, the Notification Center keeps 'reminding' me of these events.

Any help guys?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
