Low/Dead Battery not charging - ipad stuck in re-boot loop

I was traveling and my battery ran super low on the ipad. Got to the hotel to try and charge and had it on the charger all night. Battery didn't charge and now it's just stuck in a reboot loop where it shows the low battery image (plugging in doesn't show that it's charging), and then it reboots and I get the apple image and then a quick flash of the home screen before it goes dark again and repeats the process. When I pull the charger out, it shows the 'put a charger in' image as well.

Any ideas?

How do you manage to charge your device?

I got the same boot loop issue.

Battery drained for weeks.

What should I do?

Its not charging at all, being hooked to a charger for hours...

Just the same, red bar battery image and apple logo loop...

Help me. 😟

Hello jbflory,

It sounds like your device is not charging at all with the USB cable and you cannot get the device to successfully load the Home Screen. I recommend starting with resetting the device:

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If the issue persists, I would try these steps from the article named:

iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476

Battery does not charge

  1. Verify that the outlet being used is working.
  2. Try another USB power adapter if available.
  3. If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
  4. Try another USB cable if available.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, I would next try putting the device into recovery mode, and then restoring it with iTunes.

If you can't update or restore your iOS device
