Low/Dead Battery not charging - ipad stuck in re-boot loop

How do you manage to charge your device?

I got the same boot loop issue.

Battery drained for weeks.

What should I do?

Its not charging at all, being hooked to a charger for hours...

Just the same, red bar battery image and apple logo loop...

Help me. 😟

It sounds like your device is not charging at all with the USB cable and you cannot get the device to successfully load the Home Screen. I recommend starting with resetting the device:

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Battery does not charge

1. Verify that the outlet being used is working.
2. Try another USB power adapter if available.
3. If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
4. Try another USB cable if available.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, I would next try putting the device into recovery mode, and then restoring it with iTunes.

I finally got it to register, but only for a minute or two before its battery ran out in the middle of the update.

It is ridiculous that the ipad even tries to reboot when the battery level is so low. If there's some way to block that, maybe it would have a chance to charge. Is there a hidden button or something to force a hard shutdown?

How do you get into recovery mode, if the battery's flat and charging is blocked by the reboot loop? It just doesn't register on iTunes for me.

I am having same issues with my iPad 4th Gen. iPad loops between red battery and apple log. How did you resolve this issue? Appreciate your help here.. thanks!!

Hi my iPad pro just started this plug in and can only get a red battery with a lighting bolt. What did Apple say? I've got appointment tomorrow with them. Cheer Ryan

An update: it seems that not all USB ports are equal. Some don't have enough power to charge the iPad, or even to keep it running. I got past the not-charging problem by connecting to an iMac at work instead of my MacBook Pro. The ports are not so Pro as one might expect, perhaps?

Were you able to resolve this issue?

Same Issue here with my Ipad Pro, Genius member recommended buying a new one even though it was only a year old :-(
