Q: Will Logic Express 8 change existing LE8 projects?

I just picked up a copy of LE9 and would like to update my current LE8 version.

Does anyone know if my current projects will be updated in any way? In other words, Will I still be able to open the projects in LE8 after I upgrade?

I have 2 computers in the house and one (my son's) will continue to use LE8 until I convince him to upgrade. I want to test it out on my machine first.

Thanks

LE9 will not convert LE8 projects unless you save them in LE9, in which case I would suggest doing a "Save As" using a different name, e.g. "My Song_9" instead of "My Song," immediately after opening the file. That way you would still have the original LE8 version and a new LE9 version of the same project.

Of course you could always just make copies of the projects to be safe.

    You're going to love LE9.

By the way, it's also possible to open LE9 projects in LE8 but if you've used any of the new features, instruments, or presets they will not be available in LE8, as a pop-up window will inform you.
