Q: No longer able to observe or control but ARD is active.

Is there a kickstart command to fix this? There must have been a change sent out to our computers that changed this setting. Now I need to change it back.

Thanks,

Jay

First, I'd suggest that you talk to your network support folks and see if perhaps they made a change to the routers/firewall that would block port 5900. Otherwise you may spend a lot of time spinning your wheels trying to fix a problem that's not yours.

If you're sure that the port is open between your admin system and the clients, then yes, you can reset this via the Kickstart command. The syntax will be something like:

    sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -privs -ControlObserve

though I may not have that exactly correct. For more details, see this support article:

or view the Help files by entering this command in Terminal:

    sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -help

    Regards.
