Hi
I want to connect my UPS (APC smart UPS SC450RMI1U) to my MAC mini, but the UPS only has a serial port.
I know I can use a serial to USB adaptor, but wanted to confirm which converters have worked for those of you that have already done this on the MAC mini.
can anyone help please?

It is possible to use most USB to serial adaptors on the Mac, however the most 'Macish' one is the Keyspan USA19HS.

Tripplite are actually a manufacturer of UPS devices and bought the Keyspan product for exactly the situation you face, i.e. needing to connect a serial interface to a computer.
