Q: i cant get my ipad to be updated to latest verison of itunes...tried to plug in ipad to mac computer and getting message IPAD is in recovery mode

hi im trying to fu\igure out whats happening with my IPAD i havent downloaded the lastest setting upgrade or itunes 11.0? when i tried to restart my ipad tonight i got a USB plug with an arrow to an itues application icon?

i then tried to plug ipad to mac upstairs and it won't continue metnions that the ioad is in recovery mode? help me
