Error code: MobileMe Services has encountered a problem and needs to close - I get this message everytime i open Outlook and it slows down opening? This problem started when itunes updated

Thank you MUCH! Removed the MobileMe control panel & it worked perfect. I just starting getting this poblem today. I updated iTunes yesterday & then never signed back into Outlook until this morning. Then Googled the issue & hit your answer. Then signed up for this Apple Support Community that I never knew about. So not only did I fix my issue, I found a way to fix any further issues going forward. Thanks again.

Hi - Can someone please tell me how to remove the MobileMe control panel? I'm looking at the Control Panel, and when I right-click on MobileMe, it offers the option "delete", but clicking this option prompts the message "are you sure you want to delete this icon?" So I'm just checking to see if that's all there is to it - is deleting the icon the same as deleting whatever code or script or program it's associated with? The name "MobileMe" doesn't show up in "add or remove programs" control panel.

See HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows for details. If MobileMe does not show up in the list of programs that can be removed then the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility (aka MS Installer "Fixit") may help.

Hi turingtest2 (you pass, BTW): Thanks for the speedy reply. MobileMe doesn't appear in the list of programs which can be uninstalled. I tried the link you suggest: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall but when I tried to "Run Now", I get the error message: " Troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occurred... etc.... [code 80072F8F]" So googled this error & found a tool called (80072f8f) Repair Tool - I'm leery to download yet more stuff from non-microsoft sites -- any recommendations?

Yes, I'd be leery of that too. Run Microsoft Update to make sure your computer is up to date with all the official patches, then try the advanced-download option to save the fixit to your downloads folder and see if it will run from there.
