Hello 🙂 My net printer doesn't allow me to connect to it. It is working on other macs in the office (with Mavericks on not) but not on mine. The air print option in preferences panel seems not working (displays error when adding through the preferences panel), but works on other macs. The printer is SAMSUNG M2675FN
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
Doesn't help :/ I reset the system, but still while adding a printer it is configuring for a long while and says there was and error and it was unable to connect this time...
When I install drivers from samsung, from their site, I can add a printer once again and use their driver instead of AirPrint, so at least it connects and configures well. But when I try to print something, it says "Printing - printer not responding"
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ cups ▹ error_log
from the hierarchical list on the left side of the Console window. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the time of the last failed printing attempt. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
I see many many lines like this:
E [10/Feb/2014:10:30:40 +0100] [Job 21] Drukarka nie odpowiada.
(That means printer not responding)
than couple of:
W [10/Feb/2014:10:31:10 +0100] [Job 21] Drukarka sieciowa nie istnieje lub jest obecnie nieosiągalna.
(Net printer doesn't exist or is inaccessible)
Than again many lines like this:
E [12/Feb/2014:15:35:06 +0100] [Job 2] Drukarka nie odpowiada.
I do not know why it is not responding, especially when it is working from another PCs and Macs
Were you able to connect to the printer using the AirPrint driver before you installed the Samsung software?
I don't remember when exactly I installed the drivers. I am almost sure on other macs the drivers weren't installed. I tried to uninstal the driver using uninstall app that comes with it, but maybe something was left? Or sometching was changed?
Thank you! This helped me, although I didn't knew how to remove all stuff listed in the terminal window. I just deleted everything with 'SAMSUNG' in its filename 🙂. Than added printer once again with AirPrint option and now it is working 🙂
