Connect Iomega Jaz to G5

I need to get files from an Iomega Jaz drive. Is there a way of connecting this drive to my G5? It is a SCSI unit from my PowerTowerPro 225. That computer has 'finder' and OS problems that prevent me from keeping it running long enough to do any transfers. It may be the motherboard in that computer.

Hi Sam;

Getting the Iomega Jaz drive connected to your G5 is going to require a host adapter card to give you a SCSI port to connect it to. These are becoming more and more difficult to find. As far as I know about the only ones still available are probably much more costly then the Jaz drive is worth.

Having said that if your system is having "finder" problems that you suspect are being caused by motherboard problems, I would suggest that you forget about the Jaz drive until you get those problems resolved first. Getting SCSI working on a G5 without any problems is a bit of a job all by itself. In your case with these other problems I think it would an insurmountable task.

I went back an re-read my first post. I didn't make my self clear. My G5 is working fine, it's the older PTPro computer with the Jaz drive that is having the problem with the OS or finder. I was going to network the computers, but the PTP is unstable. What is the name of the cable needed to attach to the G5? Is there a SCSI to firewire or USB that might work?
